Hello Erie – Operations Manager of the Warner Theatre, Barry Copple, here.
It has been an exciting and busy past year for us here at the historic Warner Theatre. We had a great Erie Philharmonic and Broadway season! Still to come is the last of the “Pops” series April 1, 8pm, “Disney Favorites with Jenny Oakes Baker” and the final Symphonic performance Saturday, April 8 at 8pm “The Organ Symphony.” Erie Broadway Series will finish out its season April 17, with two performances of “The Illusionists” at 5:30pm and 8:30pm. Other performances including Sesame Street Live “Make a New Friend” March 28 at 6:30pm and March 29 at 10:30am and 6:30pm. Celtic Woman will take the stage April 19 at 7pm. With all those events, we have plenty to do and see! With spring and summer around the corner, we will be busy with high school proms, graduations and private wedding receptions in the Grand Lobby!
Aside from all of the events, we are always in maintenance mode here. With tens of thousands of patrons coming through our doors every year, the Grand Old lady is in constant need of repair. We try and do what we can in between events when the schedule allows, but typically in the later part of spring and summer we go through and make an extensive list of items that have been identified as needing repair or replacement. Before we know it, September rolls around and the Philharmonic is getting ready to begin, Broadway will be just about a month or so away, and many other local, regional and national promoters will have booked concerts and shows that have numerous production needs that have to be handled months in advance. There’s never really down time at the Theatre, but that’s what makes showbiz so exciting!!!
We’ll talk again soon, Erie! Until that time, “Get up and go!”
