Lisa Di Luzio, the Bayfront Convention Center’s Director of Marketing and Sales, wraps up 2015.

As everyone knows, it’s the sales and marketing department’s number one priority to generate sales and I am happy to report, it’s not only Christmas presents wrapped under the trees here at the BCC, but more importantly a successful year end to the bottom line. While you’re ending one, you’re working on another. The 2016 Bayfront Budget and Marketing Plan is wrapped up as well.

As we head into 2016 aggressively, many people, events, thoughts, ideas, and successful planning and executing must factor into a successful budget and year end. We’ve been blessed in retaining loyal events, as well as, adding many new to the books in 2015. As we approach 2016 there are additional conventions booked, with even more on the books for 2017 due to the addition of our Team Christmas present, if you will, the Courtyard by Marriott Bayfront Hotel. The addition to our complex of the premier hotel enhances the Bayfront Convention Center and provides convenience for our valued customers to host their events and guests under one roof. In 2016, the Bayfront will play host to the AFSCME Convention, the PA States Music Educator’s Convention, Frontiers in Education, and the PA Chiefs of Police, to name a few.

We team up with several groups such as VisitErie, the Sports Commission, our hotel partners, Presque Isle Downs & Casino, as well as, other local attractions to continue these successes. For instance, by working together and with our partners, in 2017 the Bayfront Convention Center, along with our (2) attached premier hotels, will be host to The National Fireworks Association. Booking a national association is a huge win for Erie and our properties, groups like such wouldn’t have even considered Erie until we added on. This makes us a player in the game to first and second tier cities.

This is just the beginning of what’s to come!
