From the desk of Sandra Olsen:
The Bayfront Convention Center attracts a variety of meeting types. My role is working with our corporate clients who produce a numerous of events. Their needs are really diverse. While some may need a small meeting room for 10 or more people, others may wish to host a banquet or gala for 2,000 people. Still, others may need our exhibition hall that is the largest show floor in the region. Whether it’s an industry trade show, a social/networking event, or even something like the upcoming For Women Only show that is open to the public, the BCC is here to help.
We have 14,000 square feet of breakout space between 15 meeting rooms, a 13,500 square foot Grand Ballroom and 28,800 square foot exhibit hall. Additionally, we have the 8,800 square foot Sunset Terrace that is located at the end of our pier that enjoys views of Erie’s Presque Isle Bay. The building design is unique and views are absolutely incredible.
We are very fortunate to host many reoccurring events. We keep the customer experience fresh and exciting by being flexible. We encourage our customers to challenge us; to create exciting menu concepts, creative use of space, new décor and lighting elements and more. It is our job to help events to sometimes shake things up again and put a new face on well-loved concept.
Next year the additional connected hotel, the Courtyard Erie Bayfront, will open in the spring of 2016. The 192 room hotel will join the award-winning Sheraton Erie Bayfront to give our clients another choice, as well as more connected rooms. A parking deck will open at the same time.
I see new and exciting challenges on the horizon. As I look forward to 2016 and beyond, I see many new events on the books, reoccurring events that are growing and even more possibilities in the future. I can’t help but be excited about what is to come.
