A Day in the Life: Assistant Director of Sports Facilities

Ed Snyder made the move to Erie and started working for Erie Events in May 2014. He comes from an Assistant General Manager position in Lancaster, PA where he spent six seasons with the minor league baseball team there. As the Assistant Director of Sports Facilities for Erie Events, he now oversees the daily operation of both Erie Insurance Arena and Jerry Uht Park, supervising event, maintenance and grounds staff. He has a close working relationship with the Erie SeaWolves, Erie Otters and Erie Bayhawks. But that’s not all. He also works closely with the Director of Sports Facilities to ensure other events such as Disney on Ice, the Globetrotters, Cirque De Soleil and concerts such as Jason Aldean, TSO and Rock the Lakes run smoothly.

Snyder’s main responsibility since joining the team has been the multi-million dollar HD video board. He had to learn the system and make sure it was operating properly before the start of the busy sports season. This technology affords him the opportunity to work closely with the Otters and Bayhawks staff to provide the best fan and sponsor experience during all sporting events.

Coming from a baseball background, Snyder can’t wait for the SeaWolves season to start. Two months until opening day!
